The increasing and widespread use of antibiotics on livestock could compromise global public health. Overusing antibiotics is leaving us more susceptible to resistant microbes that cannot be treated.

Meat is making us sick. Food-borne illnesses — spread by the way livestock is processed, manufactured and distributed — are creating a critical public health issue across the globe.

Studies show that people who eat more meals rich in vegetables and plant proteins like beans and lentils reduce their risk for heart disease and cancer — living longer, healthier lives than those with meat-heavy diets.
