Well folks lets get to planning. I stopped by Lake Leatherwood park and talked to the lady that runs the park. She gave me a list of the cabins/house available and prices.
4 standard cabins,2 people each. 3 with 2 double beds and 1 with one queen bed. $75.00 per night.
1 cottage cabin with 1 queen bed $100.00 per night.
1 family house. 4 people $125 per night.
Additional people for each is $7.00 per night.
RV spot with sewer, water and electric $25.00 per night.
Tent camping $17.00 with electric and $12.00 without electric.
They sell fishing licenses and rent canoes/kayaks and fishing gear.
I'm told I can rent the whole park for a weekend at hopefully a reduced rate. I will have to give a large percentage down to reserve the whole park. The road has been re-paved and is nice. We can stay up as late as we wish and even bring in our own firewood.
Lets start working on a date and talk about renting this place.

I just looked and Corvette weekend is usually the first weekend of October.
Each cabin rental is a 2 night minimum. I think we should ge it for a Fri, Sat and Sunday night and those who want more time deal with the park for extra time.
I think it's near $1000.00 per day for the place without a reduced rate for everything. I will contact the head of parks on Wednesday.
Any ideas are welcomed.
My only wish is to not push it any later due to weather.

Are prices comparable to KOA on cabin rental? If they are ,that doesn't sound to bad.

The cabins are a little higher but they have bathrooms and frig. The tent sites are cheaper. I still think we can get the whole place for a reduced price. I'll find out tomorrow after work.

Sounds like a pretty nice setup. We're good with whatever you decide. I think the Columbus Day weekend is our best choice.
